Happy Ever After

My “crazy husband” and I have been married for 7 years now. And in all those years, plus the 4 years I’ve known him prior, Christian has consistently made me the happiest.

We know each other so well that we complete each other’s sentences. We laugh at the oddest things, like lines from the movie, Pulp Fiction. I can watch him play God of War 3 and be content. He can patiently wait for me to finish whatever working event I have to attend, even those deadly ones that begin at 1am. Most nights we have what you call companionable silence. I putter around while he plays his PS3. We hold hands while watching TV, or reading in bed (me with a book, him with a laptop). I know he makes me happy because I am unhappiest when he’s not by my side.

Love should be so simple and so easy. Love should make you happy (and not otherwise). There is a Greek myth that we are actually hermaphroditic creatures who were cut in half by Zeus. Wait patiently, maintain a happy outlook and your other half will come along. And if you find him, hold him and never let go.

Touch Therapy

Yaya Knorr makes me happy.

She's our new cook. Her real name is Nora but we've gotten used to calling her Knorr. She makes excellent Beef Gyudon, Nasi Goreng and French Toast with Bananas Foster. But mostly I love her talent for giving the best massages ever.

I'm heavily pregnant and suffering from Gravity Edema and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Read: bloated, swollen hands and feet. Yaya Knorr, who took a short course in Reflexology, is simply heaven-sent. With an army of lotions and potions, Yaya Knorr quietly kneads away the aches and pains. After that I sink into peaceful sleep, incredibly grateful.

Not everyone has a Yaya Knorr but you can always ring Dial-A-Massage at #727.3954 for some touch therapy. It is to my mind Php 300 well spent. Or you can visit your favorite spa after work. I have a friend who avoids the weekday traffic rush hour by having a quiet, light dinner and then an hour of massage. Best, you can also opt for some alone time with hubby and exchange neck and back massages.

It's always soothing to end a long day with a little piece of Happy, wouldn't you agree? : )

C'mon Get Happy!

I'm sick of angst.

Nega stars spewing nega vibes like it's going out of style. Sometimes I can be one. But just today I caught my image in the mirror - weary expression, hair askew and Gasp! the beginnings of a wrinkle.

Let me tell you that it just isn't worth it.

We always say "live each day like it's your last". Well i'll be damned if I spent my last day whining about work, about bills, having no time for this and that, gaining weight or whatever it is that we gripe about.

So in this blog I will be steadfast in my goal to be Happy. To post only happy thoughts and a boatload of bliss. Because in the 24 hours we've got each day there's bound to be at least one good thing that comes out, right? We just have to focus on that one good thing and be grateful for it.

I believe that happiness will save us from ourselves. Starting today, it's going to be Happy Everyday.
